「頭の働きには限界があり、毛皮や耳、足などにも欠点はあったものの、その気質はいつも変わりなく愛すべきものであり、全く優しかった。愛すべき仲間であり、静かな友だった」と語ったのはピーター・ラビットの作者ビアトリクス・ポターでした。我が家にもジンジャーという名のうさぎが６年間いました。彼女はまさしく私の静かな友でした。涙腺も声帯も持たないこの生き物が私は好きです。

I like this creature which hasn't got lachrymal nor vocal chords.
